This is the official thread for the discussion, promotion, and creation of short music.

 

PROPOSED RULES:

 

-songs should be no more than 30 seconds long

-ideal presentation: music + full screen visual, loopable for tripping to

-sampling is encouraged but

-try not to sound like vaporwave cuz we have a thread for that

-spergy over-analysis of the artform is encouraged but

-not in the "are the trax i produced good???" sense

 

feel free to disregard rules at your discretion. There was a website Salvatorin sent me one time for uploading these sorts of things, but I forget the name...I spose if you wanted to go the lotech route you can just post a picture here & load your song to http://labs.echonest.com/Uploader/index.html , but that's not as cool cuz NOT FULLSCREEN

umm micromusic is micromusic because they were using the SID chip sounds, not because the tracks are short. Change the title maybe.

 

Also lol, starting a thread which will enable you to have a place to place the offspring of your new found love of creating short clips with photos, -snicker- .

also i didn't know micromusic was already taken as a genre name but i can't change it now because no powers

here's what i do, if you're using something that allows html editting:

I save the audio as mp3 & ogg to cover all major browsers. The c.css file it refers to is

body {margin:0}
img  {width:100%}

just some formatting stuff, so i don't have to write it on every individual page. Actually you could probably put the height parameter in the css too, but i didn't for some reason
