th555
So I wrote a small python program that takes a bunch of samples and weaves them together into a single sample. And I made a track with some of the resulting stuff. And I added a sort of prelude that I had laying around. http://thisjepisje.bandcamp.com/album/interleave Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide th555's signature Hide all signatures https://www.youtube.com/user/THkaas/videos https://thisjepisje.bandcamp.com/ https://soundcloud.com/th555 Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/83747-interleave/ Share on other sites
hoggy
I love the expanding of the melody it gets so manic and spooky and deranged! - those sounds have a nice texture and trippyness Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide hoggy's signature Hide all signatures "Whoa! Guest
Nice script work, fun stuff! There's an interleave preset in Renoises CDP tool which can do the same, but only with 2 sounds at the moment, though you can vary the window size over time with a breakpoint file (= automation). The shorter the window size the grainier the sound, having impulse characteristics because of the varying dc offset positions, gradually shifting to more intelligible chunks of sound is a fun technique. th555
Initially I had it set up to take only a single sample at a time, which was quite fun with low bitrate samples. Guess I'll give that Renoise thing a go, I'd love to automate this sort of thing.
