Aphex Twin vs. Aleksi Perälä

Recommended Posts

Hey, since I didn't read anything about this, I decided to create a topic. When I was listening to AP Musik recently, I was in for a surprise. Anyone else has heard the similarity between Acrid Avid Jam Shred by Aphex Twin and Den by Aleksi Perälä (AP Musik)? Even their bpm is very close. I mean, Aleksi is bound to have been conscious of the rhythmical resemblance. I cut these loops for you so just listen for yourself and let me know if you hear it too.

Acrid Avid Jam Shred Loop (161.9 bpm):

Aphex Twin - Acrid Avid Jam Loop.mp3 2.42 MB · 39 downloads

Den Loop (159.8 bpm):

AP Musik - Den - Loop.mp3 2.46 MB · 62 downloads

Acrid Avid Jam Shred + Den looping together (161.9 bpm):

Acrid Aphex + Den Aleksi.mp3 3.29 MB · 67 downloads

You're not really supposed to share copyrighted material here. Youtube links probably would have sufficed.

Here's a link to the uploaded files, in case I have to remove the files outta here.

Hehe I know how to dj, but Aleksi is a huge AFX fan, and the structures are very similar. That's all I wanted to share is what happened :)

These are partial tracks I'm assuming, so it's OK.

READ THE RULES BRO GODDDDDDDDDD

Anyone notice how Somewhere I belong by Linkin Park sounds almost identical to Beep Street by Squarepusher? Unreal///

Yeah, I remember Linkin Park saying they were the biggest Squarepusher fans, which explains why most of their songs are so close to Tom's music.

Shit, I thought I was alone when I thought Hybrid Theory was a direct track-by-track ripoff of Hard Normal Daddy. I mean, makes sense when you think of it:

Hybrid Theory

Hard Normal Daddy

Both have 12 tracks

Hard Normal Daddy = 62:07

Hybrid Theory = 37:45

62:07 – 37:45 = 24:22

cmon guys, it's obvious
