Circuit Bending

Greetings,

Couldn't resit. Today at a cheat retro shop, I've bought this:

HI-LO 1

HI-LO 2

Was so dirty cheap! €2 It has a ON and OFF switch, and a HI - LO switch that allows me to change the octave. The leds light up when a key is pressed and tt tuns on a 9V battery. Can't wait to bend it. Tomorrow gotta buy some switches. Gona make a line out, and a pitch potenciometer.

Today went to take a coffe with my girlfriend and showed her the Hi-Lo. Her face... She just kept saying "This is so cute!!!" and then I told her that I will rip it's guts, add 2 distortion switches, one vibrato, one line out and pitch changer, and how many holes I was going to make on it, and then... she almost started crying with the Hi-Lo on her arms... Man... I gave it to her...

can someone tell me the ohms of this resistor? i have no idea what i'm doing but i'm trying to build a ring mod out of a voice changer toy, i know this is the clock speed resistor i just cant tell if its upside down or what. not really sure how to read these things. hoping someone with a bit of 'sperience could help me out :3

So on yours its:

Brown, Gray, Orange, Gold

1,8,3-zeros, +/- 5%

18K Ohms (with a 5% tolerance)

You can tell which way round it is from the gold or silver band

Bought this recently and having lots of fun. Wish I had the patience and a steady enough hand to do the bending myself ;)

I was gonna ask how the Japanese phonics thing turned out but then I noticed that's eight year old news… so I won't ask.

I recently bent this cheap iPad toy which has a cool easter egg that switches it from English language to Chinese, which is nice.

Also added a pitch change mod, a patchable LFO, a ring modulator and some pretty blue lights.

a terrible thing to do looking back, but i bent a 606 and it sounded really amazing. i wouldnt do that now tho.
