-A Midsummer Nice Dream

-Lemodie

yeah, it's strange that he never got bigger. There's so much detail in his work, and it's all for the benefit of the piece, to double up on the joy in the soundscape. ar welL.

So far the only two trax by him I've heard are Yugen and Revolver off of AMND, from a decade ago. Both are quite good.

He's another one of those lesser-known IDM/electronic artists I ought to listen to more, like Lone.

Ochre is awesome. I actually don't like AMSND as much as the newer stuff. I used to think it was his best work, but now it might actually be my least favourite.

yeah i agree, but sill i love his style, it's kinda unique,

i'm glad you guys and ladies like/know Ochre and he's being mentioned here some times.

he's so underrated

He used to post tracks on tefosav long ago. That's where i first heard his stuff. Sort of lost track of it over the years, but when i've encountered it it always seems like he's evolved.

Yeah, been a fan since way back when he used to post his stuff on ElectronicScene.com - I have the dubious honour of being the first person to point out the error in the tray of aMND to him (it says A Midsummer Night's Nice Dream.) Love the way his sound's evolved over the years - aMND and his Sound System Bangers EP sound kinda 'samey' in hindsight with the stuff he's been working on since. But the strong emotive melodic sense is there right through.

Been a fan since I stumbled across Lemodie on Bleep, must've been about 8 years ago. 111 and Infotain Me from that album remain my personal standouts. I remember then finding a shitload of unreleased stuff on his old website which blew my mind. The man is exceptionally talented, it's just a shame that he seemed to find it so difficult to release music as a practical enterprise. As great as Benbecula were in their day, I'm sure he could've hooked up with a bigger label in his heyday and been given the means to put more music out there. National Ignition was a nice surprise (I seem to recall his announcing his retirement from releasing music sometime earlier), I hope he can continue to release his music in the future.

Ochre's awesome. I remember when I found a CD copy of A Midsummer's Nice Dream at a thrift store, I was ecstatic.

He's the only music I listen to when I play minecraft, it just fits so well.

Gods how am I not following him on Soundcloud?

Very desperate times a few years ago - facing being thrown out of my flat - had to sell huge load of CDs including his Sound System Bangers EP. Think I got about £25 for it. Wouldn't mind that back one day.
