Audioblysk
I have hit a bump in the ol' software swashbuckling. Apparently, syncrosoft licenses are a complete pain in the ass to remove completely and now my PC is having conflicts with an old registered Cubase copy conflicting with my not so paid-for Arturia stuff wanting to run off the same program (same company, two different programs of the same nature conflicting). I cannot for the life of me figure out how in the fuck I can get the old Cubase key's off my computer and now I cannot play half my old tunes/projects as they all use an instance or two of the Minimoog-v, Jupiter or Moog Modular. The only solution I can think of is to reformat my PC and start fresh with no Cubase so I can finally transfer these tracks off my dying laptop into a PC that runs @ 10% CPU on big tracks as apposed to the lovely 90%+ and audio crackling I get from this piece of shit ASUS laptop. Any suggestions on where to get a functioning windows 7 disk or what to do in this predicament? I have well over 100 projects/pieces sitting on this hard drive and nowhere to go with them at the moment. Zephyr_Nova
AAAAAAAH that sounds horrible. I suggest googling to find people who have had the same issues to see what advice people gave them. That is how I've solved almost all of my random program glitches that have fucked me in the past. peace 7
Sooo... The conflict is that you can run Cubase, but not the VSTs? Or, you cannot run Cubase? If ze problem is the former, you could copy the midi tracks to a similar sounding synth. I'm sure you can emulate moog/jupiter sounds, with free VSTs, even. Like Synth1, or TAL NoiseMaker. With those 2 VST instruments alone, I feel I'll never buy a commercial synth ting (unless I need to emulate real instruments). The conflict is that I don't use cubase at all, and uninstalled it, including the syncrosoft shit, and I still can't get the arturia synths to install because syncrosoft licensing is buried really deep. I keep getting messages like 'you cannot install because the copy of syncrosoft you have is out of date' then I de-installed and grab the one that came with the Arturia gear, to which it says it cannot install because I have conflicting licensees in my computer... It's an anti-piracy thing, go figure haha. I use live 9 currently. I would love to have the time to re-work about 100 different projects by remaking the (sometimes dozens) of patches in each tracks I made on those synths, but that is waaaayyy too much time to spend on something I just need to install to use again. Guest skibby
this the prob? just drop any old synth on those midi files and tweak them now, using your new knowledge and experience. solo each track at a time and tweak it till you like it. thats what knob twiddling is about! fun not sorrow. Hautlle
Maybe look into some registry entries regarding the syncrosoft stuff? A quick Google of "remove syncrosoft registry" popped this up from steinberg support: https://www.steinberg.net/en/support/knowledgebase_new/show_details/kb_show/how-to-uninstall-the-elicenser-control-centerlicense-control-center Quote Syncrosoft License Control Center (outdated) The following files have to be deleted manually in order to completely remove the old License Control Center (LCC): After uninstalling the Syncrosoft License Control Center using the standard Control Panel > Software (XP) or Programs and Features (Vista) function, check whether the following files are still there and remove them manually. In order to see all files and folders, please check whether Windows Explorer is configured correctly: Menu Tools (in Vista you have to press "Alt" to see the menus) > Folder Options > View > Hidden files and folders > Show hidden files and folders XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SyncrosoftVista: C:\ProgramData\Syncrosoft C:\Windows\system32\:All "SynsoNos", "Synsopos" and "Synsoacc"files Only on 64-bit installations:C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\SYNSOACC.dllC:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\SYNSOACC-Hilfe.chmC:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\SYNSOACC-Help.chmC:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\SYNSOACC-Aide.chmC:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\SYNSOPOS.exe Driver 32-bit Windows:C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\SynasUSB.sysC:\WINDOWS\inf\SynasUSB.infDriver 64-bit Windows:C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\SynUSB64.sysC:\WINDOWS\inf\SynUSB64.inf edit: also found this link to KVRAudio that I can't actually read because my work blocks a lot of forums http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=268697 Edited July 15, 2014 by hautlle Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide Hautlle's signature Hide all signatures Albums/EPs Free to DL or stream Newest stuff is on Soundcloud Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/84149-help-me-keep-working-on-music/#findComment-2189493 Share on other sites

Audioblysk
I ended up buying new computers. I needed them anyways and wanted to use the old ones for entertainment hubs around the house. Problem solved, I've been making new music and finishing old tunes. Chim is winner.
