I'm just curious as to whether or not anybody here actually has a sizeable video game collection, since the "currently playing" thread is always pretty lively.

I only own games across 4 platforms; Gamecube, Wii, PS3 and PS Vita

And the rarest (and most valuable) of them all, is this:

Fire_Emblem_PoR_Boxart.JPG

I actually own two copies, one sealed and one to play. If you've never checked out the Fire Emblem series, I suggest you do, it's awesome.

My brother owned a big box copy of Earthbound many years ago, he actually had a PAL and NTSC SNES for whatever reason.

Probably this -

Though not that version, mine is a 2xCD one with a mix CD by (I think) Roger Sanchez - I think it was a limited PAL release of only several hundred copies.

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

These are both my copies, the top one (Chinese) is super rare and much sought after due to being the only version with full English. It was also never released outside of Asia, but the Japanese version (bottom in pic) is easy enough to find.

Densya_de_GO!_controller_type2_JPN.jpg

This is rare in the sense that it's the only Densha controller compatible for use with PS3, primarily with a game called Railfan. The first version of that game is also hard to find, but it's great fun and really trippy:

I have a lot of PS2 era stuff that is in storage, some really rare bits in there... mostly RPGs and Shoot em ups that didn't have particuarly high print runs.

Oh, and I do have a copy of big box Earthbound, with the players guide (although the scratch and sniff sections have been used... *sniff*)

Looks like it's Power Stone for the Dreamcast.

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.

Aquanaut's Holiday reminds me of Endless Ocean on the Wii, I'd never heard of it before now though. Can you read japanese?

Was tempted to buy the PSP version to play on Vita, opted out because I didn't think I'd play it for that long.

conkers bad fur day for the n64, i bought it for £50 5/6 years ago, amazing game

I've never played this, and the original Xbox remaster isn't an option either since it has parts of it are missing from the original.

Was the only game I wanted to get a Saturn for (well possibly Nights...)

According to Rarityguide.com the rarest one I have is Ultima: Runes of Virtue for the game boy. Not really a great game though.

Yeah it's an old RPG, I think they made a second and third one too.

Speaking of Lunar, I guess those are rare too... I've got Lunar 2 for sega CD.

Persona 1 for the PSone

Oh and Tecmo's deception one and two for psone.. I know those used to be rare but not sure if they are anymore.

I'm about 14 hours into Persona 1, but I haven't went back to it for months, it's tough going at times.

I have Deception IV on the Vita, not played it yet though.

I guess Under Defeat Limited Edition for the DC, but since they released the ps3/xbox it's probably worth nothing now. Excellent game though. Might sell it soon as I don't really play it any more.

Isn't it funny how the Dreamcast console is generally worthless but the games are ridiculously expensive?

I could've had one with Shenmue 1 and 2 in excellent condition for about £75, I opted out though.

Skies of Arcadia maintains a value, but probably because it's only available physically on both Dreamcast and Gamecube.

Under Defeat seems to maintain a decent value on DC:

I used to own an absolutely MINT boxed copy of Aliens vs Predator for Atari Jaguar, with all keypad overlays included (also mint).

I stupidly sold it along with the Atari Jaguar a few years ago.

It is a bit lush, has a hippy-lite story to it, but the joy is really in just drifting around in the sea.

My Japanese reading ability is weak at best. Thing is I've grown up with importing games across the generations, if it was a game I was determined to play, I'd brute force my way through a lot of games somehow (especially relevant during the Super Famicom era). RPGs tend to be a no-go, but sites like gamefaqs are a great help, especially for series that barely make it to the West like Ryū ga Gotoku, AKA Yakuza - which I love. It's criminal that 5 (PS3) and Ishin (PS3/PS4) haven't been released outside Japan, they're brilliant.

I dunno if I'd enjoy forcing my way through games because of the language barrier, but that's just me, do you buy from play-asia?

I have Yakuza 3 and 4 but I haven't made a dent in them yet.
