kinski
so basically. i spilled wine on my macbook few days ago. i then disassambleed iand reassambled it to clean it and it worked fine. yesterday i took it with me to play a gig and weird thing started happening. it goes to sleep mode after a few seconds and wont turn back on. but, it gets weirder. if i open up the keybord and dont screw it back, just kinda lay it on top - it works fine as ever. but if i screw it back the way it should be it shuts down again. anyone knows what the heck? Guest A/D
Maybe something's out of alignment and part of the keyboard is pressing on the power switch? fenton
Use IPA to clean all the contacts on the underside of the keyboard, there may be some decrepit shizzle on the contacts. MadameChaos
Hang on I know this. If you spilled red wine on it then spill some white wine on it and it'll fix it. Vice versa. user
Screwing on the keyboard is probably shorting something out because of dried up wine/sugar. Try to clean it again, more properly. Make sure no traces of the delicious fluid are left. Guest FuncRandm
You have a short. Something on the chassis or keyboard is touching something else it shouldn't.
