Anyone else hyped for the upcoming DFA1979 album? I love these guys, been into them since their first EP. New album should be more of the same awesome bass riffage from the tracks previewed. Album comes out on 9/9!

The first single "Trainwreck" had me a little worried at first, but now I see it as the radio-friendly track of the new album, like what "Black History Month" was to Your A Woman, I'm A Machine... although more pop sounding it's still not a bad track by any means

More recently they just put up this video that's more along the line of the faster punkier sound that got them known, and if most of the album continues in this route it's gonna be great.

These guys have been on my must-check-out-albums list since seeing them live last year. I still haven't heard one of their albums, but they slayed live and I've liked everything of theirs I've heard.

Your A Woman, I'm A Machine is a fucking great album, pick that up ASAP! I wore out my first copy I've played it so much, if you dig that then check out the Heads Up EP, if you really really dig that then try looking into Femme Fatale, the band that preceeded DFA.

yeah this was pretty awful compared to womachine. many of the tracks reminded me of crappy rock from the '90s and the lyrics to most of the songs were laughable

Damnit, I haven't heard the whole album yet, but this is disappointing to hear... I'll still have to give it a listen myself but my expectations are lowered

the two sample tracks (which google must (have been paid to) love cause they loaded pronto), were simplistic low rent pop crap. I realise it's been a while since the kids were marketed guitars, so it's time it came around, but when it does, it won't be these guys we're listening to.

A member of the non sequitairiate.

I listened to this album recently, and while I didn't hate it, I didn't love it either. It's not BAD. I sort of liked them during their first run. I can say I like this record more than I liked MSTRKRFT.

I've played it about 3 times now, not bad but the first track is the best one. Really got me amped when I put it on but then things kinda got a little "alternative" sounding. Just not as edgy as their first I guess. And it's not like I ever LOVED them, I thought their debut was quite fresh and good but sometimes it got on my nerves too. So all in all I didn't expect to fall in love with it. But I do wish more of it was as good as the first song.
