The artwork and full tracklisting of BLUT AUS NORD's upcoming new album, "Memoria Vetusta III – Saturnian Poetry", are now revealed.

The most influential Black Metal band of the last decade is finally back, two years after the last full length album, "Cosmosophy", the monumental conclusion of the unforgettable "777" trilogy.

This time, far from its filthy industrial realm, the enigmatic entity offers nothing less than one of the finest melodic, epic and grandiose Black Metal album ever !

The stunning cover art was painted by famous Artist Kristian "Necrolord" Wåhlin (EMPEROR, BATHORY, DARK FUNERAL, DISSECTION...) and can be seen below :

Yeeeeeeeeeeah!! BAN are one of the most interesting extreme metal bands of the last 10 years. Their guitar sound comes closest to actually capturing fear/anxiety/nausea for me.

You know, I have to admit as big of a metal head as I am I've never really given these guys much of a listen... I've always known of them but never really got around to hearing them, everyone seems to say they're good shit. I should probably bump them up on the bands I'll get to list (and by that I mean I'll be looking into them probly tomorrow)

This, only Throbbing Gristle and BAN have this gut feeling captured so good. For BAN especially on The Work Which Transforms God. I've been a bit lost on the more recent ambient/industrial-ish albums, didn't really care for it. This new one could be exciting again though!

TWWTG is the album I was thinking of when I made that comment. That album transported me to another place when I first heard it. It was one of those eureka listening experiences. it was also my introduction to BAN. Ghosty, listen to The Work Which Transforms God.

So bored with this band, when are they going to retire? With every new album, I feel they're losing it a bit more. I think they have said everything they had to years ago and are now running on past glory. My own fave is Odinist. What hurts my ears is they have no idea how to make electronic music sound convincing so it's kind of cheap 80's horror industrial meets dissonant, melodic BM. The same applies to most of Aborym's career. On the other hand, the new Dhg is coming our way, the band that taught BAN and Aborym, with 666 International, how mixing electronics and experimental BM was possible. That is exciting.

i always avoided this band because of the silly name and blackmetal in general is boring as hell (except early darkthrone, first few burzum albums, first isengard etc.) but i just listened to this and i have to say: wow. that's pretty fucking good.

DHG is now without Kvohst right? I'm not expecting much from that, even though Supervillain Outcast was in-fucking-credible, but it would be nothing without Kvohst and Czral. They should release those demo versions of that album, Czral is insane on those (and it was his last drumwork ever). But that´s for another thread :)

Never was a huge Blut Aus Nord fan but I mostly listened to TWWTG and Ultima Thulee (which basically is crap, but nostalgic so it's ok). TWWTG is a classic.

Funny you think that, when I listen to that track I hear nothing but the most standard BM that I can't stand anymore. It's not bad, but...

you're probably right, it might be nothing special, but the part from 1:35 tickles my balls in some funny way. i just didn't expect that from newer bm stuff.

They've added a lot of their back catalogue to Bandcamp, mostly for 6 euros ($6.67 (lel)) a pop.

i love this album, i'm glad they put a real drummer on it and i'm just a sucker for melodic norwegian black metal, i'll never age out of it
