Is there a collection anywhere of all the unreleased Aphex tracks culled from his live sets over the past decade?

Syro is about 20% of the music he's worked on over the past decade ...

Where'd you get that figure from? It sounds like less than 20% of the music he gave a passing mention in an interview four years ago, especially when you consider some of Syro's tracks were likely written after that interview.

Someone who likes making music that much, and dislikes releasing it almost as much, and it's their full time job... they'd pretty much have to be sitting on a lot of unreleased material. For RDJ in particular, that seems oddly likely to be as good as the released material in several places.

Thanks! I've been too swamped with tidying up the firmware and writing instructions lately to keep abreast of all these new interviews.

I'm in that mode now, so hopefully I'll stay in it for a while. I've got a few more things planned – at least a couple more albums, some EPs, things like that. Some more dance-y things I did about 10 years ago. Experimental things, noise things, weird things. Shitloads of stuff. They're all pretty much ready to go. I haven't mastered them yet, but I should get that done pretty quick. It's just trying to work out where to put it all and what to do with it, and nobody helps me. And all this time I'm spending now, I could be making new music, which is why I usually don't end up doing it.

  • 4 weeks later...

Doth anyone hath setlists from past live Aphex Twin gigs?

SetlistFM has some but not very complete.

I was particularly after what was played at the LED Festival & Wireless Festival a few years back. The only times I've ever seen him play, it was great but I was very wasted!

I'll assist him. I won't even charge him (too much). I can tell you I don't have any experience in the music industry... but what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like him. If he lets his unreleased material from the last 25 years go now, that will be the end of it - I will not look for him, I will not pursue him... but if he doesn't, I will look for him, I will find him... and I will chastise him.
