Monome has started to make modules

Recommended Posts

The first one is called White Whale and you can (must) use it with a sexy grid controller.

It's a probabilistic step sequencer that retails for 280 dollars.

I think it's a smart move of them to do modules.

edit:

is it reprogrammable?

yes. each module contains a bootloader which allows firmware updates without a programmer. see the documentation for more information.

is the firmware open source?

yes.

Well that's swell, innit?

Very cool indeed.

Would be fun to use a Monome as a sequencer for a modular. I'd imagine with some clever programming and expansions, it would be a really novel way to mess about with fully controlling a modular in sequence.
