Dropping 4 bit 9d api+e+6 in a DJ set.

I don't normally like to play with serrato @ house parties like some of my friends do. A good deal of the music I listen to doesn't really swing with keeping a party going so I have mostly stuck to messing about with downtempo/dub stuff later in the night when I get invited to play @ a friends party.

Sooo - I am at a house party with around 100 people in the backyard and house when a friend asks me to come up and spin some tunes if I've got my hard drive and laptop (which I do). The night had mostly been drum and bass with a spattering of house stuff so I just went with spinning more poppy house stuff. But then once I realized that the party was mostly filled with people pretty faced and in the Acid FX sort of mood ;))) I decided to do the unthinkable-

I transitioned into the drum intro from 4bit for my last track and pretty much let the track ride out with a little fuckery (little triplet stutters here or there, flanged a bit on the melty part) and it got the house absolutely wild. There were a ton of people who were just standing around during some of the housey stuff that just went ape when that big plunky synth and phat detuned chord pad comes in. I was asked by multiple people who the last track was and promptly turned them towards the light. One guy was straight up dancing like a demented marionette puppet, it was mental.

Thank you for hearing my story. My tales of 'Aphex has really good unreleased stuff' met with rolling eyes by my 'EDM' crowd friends, has now ceased. Thanks for making me cool, Richard.
