Just heard this. RIP Spaceape :( a very good artist.

I barely knew him but that track he did with Burial was something...

just saw this. so saddening. I knew he had cancer because of the Xorcism EP but I thought he'd beaten it. an amazing voice and imagination lost.

This year has been too much for me, his collaborations with burial and kode9 were some of the first electronic music tracks I've ever listened to, beyond saddened...

Goddamn, I'm absolutely shocked, loss for words too. He left quite a stamp on electronic music, a true pioneer in dubstep and bass music. He's gone, but his voice will echo on and on. His releases with Kode 9 are classic.

Damn... had no idea. A really unique voice, just putting on some Kode9 and Burial to remind myself. I could always imagine him doing some fine work with the Echospace roster, a perfect fit, in fact - but that'll never happen now What a shitty year for Hyperdub - first Rashad, and now Spaceape... big blows for a solid label.

Spaceape - thanks for all the lyrical twists and turns, spouted as if from some perpetually dark alleyway deep within a nameless London borough at 2am on a Saturday night... an evocative style that will always be remembered.

This track is a monster!

Rest in peace. That is very sad. His unique voice definitely left its footprint in my mind forever.

RIP Spaceape, Black Sun is one of the better electronic albums of the last 5 yr.
