I've been meaning to try and learn this but never seem to get around to it. Wonder how difficult it would be.

Wow, she is really precise. I actually took throat-singing lessons for about a year, but I've been out of practice for a bit and lost some of my range. It's a fun vocal technique to use though - great for making people feel uncomfortable too haha

 

In Tuva they have many different styles of overtone singing - each of them typically associated with an aspect of nature they are trying to represent and/or communicate with. For a project in college once I travelled around and made various field recordings of myself using the different styles in their intended locations (I sang kargyraa in an underground cave, borbangadyr against a bubbling river, etc.) Was one of the more memorable experiences I had at school.
