I liked them. Their second record was brilliant.

my understanding is that the dude wrote most of the music bits and was responsible for the theft

maybe she's leaving because it's hard to express yourself creatively when your partner is downloading midis instead of writing tunes

or maybe they're both creatively bankrupt who knows

i listened to their first album and it was all shit except for the first track. alice glass' singing is just annoying.

Yeah, ok. Maybe I'll check the producer guy's solo stuff... Saw them live with a friend a couple years back, they put on a decent show but I couldn't help but think I'd like it more without Alice's obnoxious wailing I couldn't understand a damn word she sang.

I actually like their two last albums, I think III is pretty great. Sorry!

I'm a big CC fan, so this is disappointing, but not unexpected. I have a feeling she was personally involved with her bandmate and the breakup is more personal than professional.

It will be interesting to see if she continues on solo if the CC aesthetic remains, as that will tell you how much of CC was Ethan Kath vs Alice Glass. I suppose he could continue on as CC with another vocalist, but it probably wouldn't be as good.

Purity Ring is another similar group I listen to - and I'd say their vocalist is better than Glass...

Because of what robbie said I'll always equate them with a bag of rancid dicks. Never heard them that I'm aware of but I'm sure they taste as bad as they smell.

Purity Ring's vocalist is a much better singer than Alice Glass, but I always thought CC were better. It kind of bothered me that III sounded so similar to a PR record and sort of shied away from II's sound. Too "chill," as they say.

I will miss them. I hope Alice's next project is just as awesome.
