Sample Sites

I've been a fan of freesound.org for a while now.

Are there other good sites for samples that I should be aware of? Where do you go for your samples, watmm?

What do you use YouTube for? Personally I'd be more inclined to discover music on YouTube, and then go somewhere else to get a high-quality version.

Are you samples viral videos? Are you sampling people talking?

I've always wanted to sample this "Hyah!" scream, but fit it seamlessly into the "Yeah! Woo!" break :P

yep! :P I do samples people talking or music that it's hard to find.

I like to sample politics and historical events, also weird talks like drug addicts or depressed people or simply really fucked up stuff.

But seriously, I think the Gregory Brothers had to change up the samples on that Home Intruder thing, and split their profits with the Dodsons, but possibly not the news network that took the video. I wonder what would happen if you made it big with a song that samples some random person's vlog about drug use...

legowelt site has some great samples he has recorded. without a doubt some of the best free samples

I use a zoom H2.

spotify, soulseek, casettes/ cd through line in on soundcard, whatever free pack is spammed in my facebook feed / internets.
