'Zurich 2001' sample spotting

So, the Japanese bonus track for Untilted:

I had a listen, and the little melody sounds disturbingly similar to the opening melody to this:

I still think they mashed up that track.

to be fair, before internet media-saturation, music was consumed without as much context about the artists' personal lives/beliefs.  Im sure much of their formative music like ny hip hop and detroit techno they were drawn to for the sound, without much cultural baggage attached

It's similar, but only incidentally I think.

By AoB there is a strict melody with 4-5 notes. By AE it's only 2 notes, and the rhythm is slightly different too.

And: To me it seems by AE the two tones are created with some kind of modulation from one single held note, so it's jumping between the two positions (it's a quint I guess).

Has some arhythmic randomness how it switches between the two tones.

As for AoB it's a clearly keyboardy melody.
