how to eq computer speakers with hardware?

im wondering what i need to replace my current eq ( my mixer). Basically, I use audioengine A5 speakers but since transitioning to them from other recording equipment and monitors, I've always had a mixer intercepting the singal from my computer. And I've grown to like having a hardware control of my computer's audio eq thru hardware.

So, how can I get rid of this since I no longer need the mixer. IS there hardware to do this, like a desktop controller? Could I just use effects pedals?

Unless I'm completely misunderstanding you I think you're just looking for an audio interface with a volume control for the monitor output. Something like -

Edit: I think I am misunderstanding you

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

That would be pretty badass...

I have an interface with vol. knobs, i want something after that to Eq the signal to my speakers.

Just get a hardware graphic EQ? Not sure if desktop versions exist, but they are available in rackmount versions so I can't see why not..

That's what I've been thinking, I just hear cheaper rackmounts tend to add hum.
