plastic
So.. I haven't been around here in just about a million years. It was a long semester, and about the only thing I could pull out music-wise was this piece and one other which I believe max marlow will be laying on you guys later. It's not really that much, but the synthesizer was created by me in max/msp, and the drums (which have been smeared) were done with a drum machine I created in max/msp. My wife played the flute, and the cello is just the reason sampled cello. Anyway, enjoy. All comments are welcome. Guest Max
Dan, i love it. as i love you. :-) the flute is very well recorded and your surrounding noise make me really stunning. the implosion of the noise at the end is really nifty (!) :-P Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/8568-sitting-waiting/#findComment-173170 Share on other sites

Guest yan_g of course!
IRAIL: didn't like that first synth a la SAW II, liking the flute, unexpected. like the surrounding sounds the track to me it sounded like an intro, sounds like the beginning of something, doesn't work alone for me. Guest Max
dan is always like an intro, like me saying good morning in the evening - meaning that the sun is always rising. i think thats a reason why jeremy selected him as intro track for the noise compilation. i'm looking forward to a future efford where this gets a guideline through an EP or LP, because the finished ones so far were working pretty good as a complete product. lo-fi
70's Tangerine Dream is what this reminds me of.(the Electric Meditation album to be exact) That flute is beautiful.(one of my favorite instruments) This is a really beautiful piece. I don't know why but this makes me think of the old animated Watership Down movie if it were directed by Stanley Kubrick. Guest Mrs Jynx
Flute= ACE - she has a really lovely tone. It's nicely produced - well balanced with the backdrop. Cello and Flute sound almost like a slow sarabande baroque style peice or something similar. Nice! It sounded like an intro to me aswell, a very well produced intro, but still..maybe you could tie this with something else, incorporating the flute & make a classic. Nice to see somebody actually using Max/Msp in a compostion. rzpkt Not everything is electronic music, bro. I agree with the first line, but not so much with the second. The track really does stand on its own, and it's pretty grand, the recording of the flute were spot on as well. Like yan_g I'm not a fan of the synth sound, it almost sounds a bit too preset-ty and thin but I'm sure that be sorted out easily enough. I guess you two are right about the synth. After spending like two weeks making the damn thing my perception was clouded into thinking that was all I needed for it. Maybe some low end compression would help it out some... though, still don't think it really sounds anything like SAWII. Thanks for the input. Guest Promo
Yeah this is fresh. As soon as I read that Tangerine Dream reference by Loafeye I had to check it. For the first minute or so it was well trippy and scary but got a bit too suggestive as it progressed for my liking. Still pretty damn sweet. Yeah that flute sounds real nice. How did you get that flute sounding so cool; is that you playing? EDIT: Ha ha forget it. Just read your wife played the flute.
