Die Antwoord and Rich

I know that the two artists getting together is nothing but old news, but what's the official story between them? I always feel like I'm missing something. I heard Ugly Boy and it caught me off guard because I forgot they worked together at all. Is Richard the mastermind behind all of their recent tracks? Does Rich secretly produce a lot of pop music? How did they even meet in the first place? I just want a condensed story here.

Predicting a locked thread before the day's over.

Maybe the duo spent some time in UK for some rave partying and ended up meeting RDJ there.

Why do you even start the thread if you know it'll be locked. There's no official story. They probably met somewhere by accident, had a beer and shared a few words and got together to talk about music and things.
He probably likes what Die Antwoord is under that low-IQ act.

yeah. able to relate. they've both penetrated the pop market using a "mask" and with electronic beats. (albeit, aphex with few singles and videos, die antwoord is pretty much their whole shtick is that one thing..)

All I know is they're both big fans of Richard, I watched a video where Ninja showed his Aphex CD collection. Can't seem to find it now though.

I wouldn't be surprised if RDJ produces some pop tracks or whatever to get some more cash on the table. If I had the chops and gear to do so, that's what I would do.

I read the same interview somewhere. It's basically what sparked my interest between them in the first place.

really cool sound design on that album but the floaty mid 00's IDM pentatonic scale melodies sort of tank it. This is part of the reason why Phonecia's brownout has aged better than other stuff from the same era, it didn't fall into the 'I'm going to throw an obligatory aphex-esque melody that pales in comparison to aphex over these really hard worked on beats' category

Isn't DJ hi-tek also Seven Ark? Justin debroga is his name I believe. He made really good Idm in the early 2000's
