manmower
They can be a messy, next to impossible to follow label but Gunnar Haslam is shaping up as one of the artists that manage to stand out from the L.I.E.S. crowd. Quite the prolific fucker too, two albums in as many years and a bunch of EPs and 12-inches too. This latest one got my attention by being more atmospheric and almost ambient for the most part. Only a couple of the tracks have a kick drum. It comes across as a bit artsy and highbrow what with the album title taken from a short story I've never read and its cover art supposedly taken from a movie I've never seen (but want to now), but I think the music's ace. Almost makes me regret not getting his earlier album Mimesiak on vinyl when it was easily available (I kind of dismissed it at first for being too much in L.I.E.S.'s typical claustrophobic/anxious/uncomfortable vein, but it's good in its own right). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hdqkU78QE_Q Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/85873-gunnar-haslam-mirrors-and-copulation/ Share on other sites
