TRiP
Greetings all,On the look out for a tasty Reverb unit, I guess the cheaper the better...myself and band mate had our eyes on the Eventide Space (are they really as good as people say?), but they're fairly expensive and we need to save the money for other business, so feel free to spit ball any ideas...we have a nice WEM tape delay unit coupled with analog gear, so in an ideal world it would be great to keep it in that vein, but I have no idea what sort of prices you'd be talking for something like that...so digital delays are also welcomed i remember a WATMM'er whose identity evades me posted this video a while back which had a reverb (Behringer VR600) that i thought sounded verrrry nice. Is there really much difference when it comes to prices and different makes? Are all reverb pedals by and large the same? Guest
I can only give my 2 cents on the Alesis Midiverb II as it's my first time playing with a hardware verb unit (other than a Holy Grail, but I don't like it). It's lush and has a very SAW-like sound when using the large long decay verbs. It also has a bunch of delays, chorus, flanger, reverse verb, gated verbs, etc. They go for around $100, sometimes less or more. TRiP
I found a Alesis Microverb III going for €80 on a local buy/sell site over here, I wonder if they're a separate Alesis product, Micro instead of Midi, just as good if not better than the II i wonder? Only issue with it might be the size, we're lugging alot of big gear around these days when gigging, so keeping sizes down would be a plus, so perhaps more a pedal is what we're after Anyyy other suggestions? modey
You won't be disappointed with the alesis reverbs. They're pretty lush. The behringer reverb in the above video is pretty nice though. Decay time isn't super long but it's got a lot of modes to play with. Probably about as good as you can get for under $100. modey
There's also the Behringer Virtualizer Pro which has a super lush reverb, plus it has a lot of other effects as well such as one of the best vocoders I've heard and a really nice rotary speaker emulation. I picked mine up for $100 second hand a few years ago.
