Biosphere - Microgravity (Deluxe remaster on Kickstarter)

One of my favourite albums, so I would feel sad if this remastered deluxe edition didn't happen...

Postage is nearly as much as ordering the record! That sucks, makes it kinda expensive to do

I'd really like this to happen as well but it's not looking positive right now. To be honest, the Kickstarter page looks and sounds so underwhelming and includes so little detail about the reissue that it's not entirely surprising,

The lack of detail is the real kicker for me - how is it being remastered? Is it just a cleanup from the previous master, is it reconstructed from the midi files via a better processing chain? "Faulty test pressings of the vinyl edition might delay the release date." is a little cheeky for trying to get the >£8000 funding

Indeed. There isn't even a decent description or artwork to accompany the thing. It's as if Geir has no confidence in the project at all. I would kill for deluxe remasters of both this and Patashnik, one of my favourite albums of all time. But a Kickstarter with this little effort put in isn't going to get it done.

Another example of why record labels are useful. Many musicians should not be salesmen!

God Geir, let someone do it for you. I'm sure there are a lot of people who'd happily make it look lovely in return for a copy of the album.

The update clarifies quite a few things. Of particular interest is that the new edition will contain no track cross fades.

Time to fund this I think.

Interesting how much impact it had to add more info (still hard to say, as most pledges are made towards the end I guess?)

Someone out there is a fan enough to support the kickstarter, but uploads it to a torrent straight away.

What kind of a dick does that.

Anyway, I did end up supporting this, and I am happy to own the 2xCD copy.

add a bit of donk as well to make it extra lush imo
