Yeah it was cool year to be an Aphex fan

This might sound kinda sad, but the release of Syro was the highlight of 2014 for me.

You and me both. 2014 has been complete shit for me.

2014 has been completely shit for everybody.

I've had a good one, and believe me the 4 years before were a fucking nightmare. I could go over to the depression thread and write a story you would not believe, but I've resisted it as I want to forget about it all, and cast it off.

Music is so powerful it can be such a thing that it is the highlight of the year. Nothing wrong with that. It's powerful shit fellow watmmer's!

Seems like quite a few people had a hard time this year, me included. But yeah, Syro was the shit, cheered me up a good bit during its release time. Thanks, Richard - and thanks to all of the people involved for the new shit coming next year

Attending the Syro listening event in Londinium was the highlight of my year. Got to meet a couple of WATMMERs there and some other nice folk. I don't think it's an amazing Aphex album per say, but it does have some amazing tracks (Minipops, Produk and Syro were the standouts for me). Was cool being able to listen to it in a different setting and it made me feel ten years younger. I was actually excited when i saw I had got a ticket. I can't remember the last time before that I got excited about something. So thanks Richard D. James

Gotta say 'shit' definitely characterized my 2014 but there were a lot of positives to take out of it and the resurgence of Aphex was definitely a highlight. Not only Caustic Window, Syro and Soundcloud, but just bringing his music back on my radar, checking out Analord for the first time and SAW I & II for the first time *ducks* Actually so much stuff because his stuff was always so limited before, I only heard a fraction. I remember back in the day I used to go to record stores looking for some Aphex and flipping past 'Gak' so many times :P Yeah and the thought there is more coming is really awesome, plus the mysteriously baffling new shit... so a great year for Aphex fans and despite all the other shit I went through, lots of lessons to take away and experience gained.

yeah all of the new releases made me dig deeper into twan back catalogue as well. really inspirational.
