I practically grew up with the guy (not literally, just that I freebased sportscenter over most of my highschool/college years), and yeah he was corny in a will-smith-&-carlton-banks-rolled-into-one kinda way but I never really minded it. I think future generations will look back on him a someone who paved the way for dorks in sports, jocks to be dorks, black kids to be sports dorks, etc.

Damn shame we lose Stu Scott so early and yet Tim McCarver keeps wasting oxygen for the rest of us.

Only decent presence on that shitty network. RIP

Mercifully no. He's retired (at least from the national baseball commentary job with that other tool Joe Buck) and I can only assume he now passes his days wallowing in his own smug and feces.
