Guest skibby
Just got the K5000r. I have been scrounging wayback machine for patches and I was wondering if anybody has an "all the web" patch collection. pm me or post here. the internet almost forgot all k5000 lore! Also I noticed the screen turning blank randomly (it stays on, just the black lcd graphics disappear) when it does that, rebooting fixes it. awepittance
I have 'all the web' k5000 patches but they aren't organized. If i find the time and energy ill zip them all for you. In my experience a lot of the user presets out there aren't that impressive sounding, too many of them use wavetables instead of spectrums. Most of the best patches for the k5000 are stock tbh. Have you found a software editing solution that works well for you? Sounddiver 3 beta for OSX is the only one I've used where I can edit the spectrums and access all the parameters. Midiquest didn't work for me on either an OSX platform or Windows 7. One of the best ambient musicians on the planet, Tetsu Inoue uses a K5000 sometimes, you can hear it on this track https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYvh1pD8mKY#t=101 Edited January 6, 2015 by John Ehrlichman Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide awepittance's signature Hide all signatures Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/86233-kawai-k5000/#findComment-2267534 Share on other sites

Thanks for the Tetsuo Inoue vid, and I will contribute what patches I have found to this thread too. awepittance
which sounddiver did you grab and where? When i try to open the newest version on my PC it says it wants an installation CD.can you also point me to this resynthesis software? that sounds fucking awesome. I still haven't figured out way to do quasi resynthesis (formant synthesis) on my FS1R by loading in my own sounds. This multi platform Java K5000 editor looks really nice but I've never been able to get it to work, let me know if you have any luck. the only problem I've had with sound diver with the k5000 is that trying to randomize the patches or panel usually results in an 'out of memory' error, have you encountered that? happy to see there is interest on watmm for these unique and still unsurpassed digital hardware synth engines. The FS1r has skyrocketed in price in the last 2 years. I bought one for $250 in 2007 and now they go on ebay for $1000, price seems to be climbing even more after the Syro gear list. So word of advice, grab this shit now while you still can for cheap. Get out of the analog fetishism trend and start seriously researching roland, yamaha, korg, kawai digital synth hardware before people realize how valuble they are Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide awepittance's signature Hide all signatures Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/86233-kawai-k5000/#findComment-2267565 Share on other sites
Guest skibby
The kawai came with a copy of soundiver so naturally i pilfered and did obtain an illegal craquelesque from an internet thug google search. I have one or 2 synths left in mind but i am hesitant to talk about them until after i score. I also fs1r recently its all happening so fast! And about the resynthesis thing i will check my picnic basket for all the wayback berries as i almost raided all wayback bushes for what fruits remain. Must secure these metaphors for posterity! Guest skibby
i found that due to the limited number of segments in the harmonic envelopes, resynthesis isnt really possible, but there is a rudimentary resynthesis function via wav import on soundiver https://messagesofhope.net/TerrysSynthWebPage/K5000Tips.html#Re:uses for the wav import function (sound Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/86233-kawai-k5000/#findComment-2270035 Share on other sites

awepittance
aren't those parameters already accessible over CC? I might be mistaken but i remember the most interesting parameters being inaccessible via CC Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide awepittance's signature Hide all signatures Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/86233-kawai-k5000/#findComment-2301129 Share on other sites
Guest skibby
these are boring knobs pretty much, but the arp and other stuff can be set up with sysex formulas i think, which can be added to the CTRLR panel if i ever learn how maybe even tabs Edited March 10, 2015 by skibby Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/86233-kawai-k5000/#findComment-2301225 Share on other sites
