Slowing down loops of death metal songs and adding synths and drum machines, and low bitrate mp3 compression. Simple but psychedelic

I dunno, might do a mixtape or something, kinda like eccojams but for death metal and slightly more elaborate

40kbps. if you can guess what song it was originally you get a cookie

This is awesome. Alright everyone make a track and I'll make a mix. I'll do a few, I reckon early cannibal corpse would suit this slowdown style quite well

Nothing will top aquacrunk. Hopefully I can come up with some kind of visual aesthetic to go with it though. I'm thinking maybe Doom screenshots with bad JPG compression

but is it some kind of social commentary? is it criticizing something, like how vaporwave criticizes commercialism? you need some kind of really intelligent thing like that behind it for this to really take off and become a movement. slowed down loops gotta have a statement, ya hurd? intelligentsia, reprezizzle

if this didn't have all the mp3 artifacts would be pretty cool. I can't appreciate mp3 shimmering even if its intentional, it just sounds bad. I like the concept though. Have you tried doing it at CD quality and just didn't like it as much or something?

ohhhh but is it tho? maybe its DOUBLE (or triple, or even meta) ironic. or the sneakiest of all- none ironic. how can we ever know

no, it's totally a commentary on the ridiculous microgenre thing

Ah yeah, it sounded good without the compression but I thought it might be more gimmicky at 40kbps

Hmm, should it be #DEATHWAVE.. or #DETHWAVE?

#DEDWABE

You need to post everything on a tumblr, then send a link to wired or whatever, and wait for Pitchfork to write an article called : "Why #DEATHWAVE is the best thing that happened to music in 2015 - our thoughts on the post-vaporwave-trash-internet-metal", where they'll finally mention the existence of WATMM.

Then you'll be rich.

(oh and awfully sized Doom screenshots as visuals is an awesome idea !)
