Ian Allen of Negativland - Dec. 15, 1958 - January 17, 2015

Ian Allen of the 80's group Negativland passed away on 17 January.

I loved those guys in jr. high! Shame. RIP.

At least someone's heard of them on here!

Just 56, that's a real shame. I didn't know much about each individual's role in the band, turns out he's the one who introduced them all to tape splicing, which considering how they used the technique (and influenced others) is quite incredible.

Negativland had some interesting stuff, I first heard about them years back in my studio classes and purchased Escape From Noise soon after... Their U2 song is fucking hilarious, as is the whole story behind it.
