Powell - 11-14

Anyone feeling this guy..?

His CD "11-14" was released last month on his own Diagonal label. Collects up all the EPs and misc tracks from 2011-2014.

i really like that brutal, minimal production style.

He managed to catch my interest a few years ago. I remember being fairly impressed with a free beats collection that he dropped in 2009, which was a lot more interesting than his peers' stuff when loose, bedroom post-dilla beats were a dime a dozen.

I gave the 11-14 samples a listen and it sounds like he's moved on to the dance floor, but I'm digging the simplicity. I'm going to catch up on this guy.

I really liked the clips I heard but was a little wary of the Boomkat hype machine. However, seems like it’ll have some staying power for me, so this remains on my list. Good to hear the recommendations from others on this one.

banging collection of tracks! love powell

Yeah been loving his output, was a great dj when i saw him too. high energy, good fun. really solid club tracks, they sound great loud.
His label Diagonal are also one of the better things going around too, so many good artists on there and great stuff forthcoming.

Would recommend having a dig through the catalogue to anyone into experimental tunes
