Cryptowen
digging the atmosphere of the first few seconds with the random sounds skittering around the piano. very cold winter in the city, doing the urban hustle vibe. the bass is this big naturalistic flow & the vocals contrast that by being very deliberate, almost a little off-beat. my take is that it's a dude who's engaging in some kind of goofy self-help ritual to get through winter, and the bass is informing us "don't worry, he's got this on, like, a subconscious level" Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide Cryptowen's signature Hide all signatures Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/86625-i-am-fine/#findComment-2288097 Share on other sites
lyst
Haha insane. But you are right... Didn't go crazy with the art. just took a picture of the place that i drink and smoke cigarettes while I check the song out for problems + fix them before posting. Guest colonelchibbers
You know more about production than me. Interesting side-chaining stuff going on. And yeah, the wintry urban (self-help?) vibe, like the other guy said, very nice. Calm, interesting, natural, downtempo type of stuff. lyst
Thank you! I mainly learned through experimentation through the years. Make some sounds that you love, and keep working on it and perfecting those sounds - is how i've looked at production. All my stuff's got some lazy Sunday afternoon vibe to it. Which i am ok with. Bitraete
It's not really to my taste per say, but it's very nicely made and easy on the ears n stuff :) Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide Bitraete's signature Hide all signatures Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/86625-i-am-fine/#findComment-2290693 Share on other sites
Danny O Flannagin
Nice, laid back track. I'd change the snare because it sounded a little flat, maybe use something quicker or more crisp sounding. Also, I felt the "I'm fine" was a little annoying and ruined the groove of the track. You def have a ear for chords and the rhythm of the piano was super nice. Maybe throw some phaser over the snare to add some dynamics, or go for a more interesting sample all together. The opening stutter of the track made me think that my internets were stuttering on the stream, trippy. Reminds me a bit of Washed Out over all. You'd probably love his album 'Within And Without'.
