L!VESHOT - Clear Cut

Did this for a soundcloud compilation.

Hey Chim, this is some pretty freaky stuff. I like how you have the big atmosphere going, but it's kind of bumping with the beat like it's side chained.

The sounds themselves are pretty ace, very in my face, great stuff.

As far as feedback goes, if I were comparing it to that Billain's Safety Hatch track which I will admit is kinda harsh but I think you'd want that vs me just saying that I thought it was ace.

Okay, I feel like the rhythm is too simple at 1:29. Like there's a piece missing that needs to be placed. The drop in Safety Hatch's drums are immediately biting, but te hip-hopish drums here feel like something was skipped.

I just can't tell what's missing. I think the issue is that the first part is more busy than when the drop comes in, which makes it somewhat underwhelming but I can still dig it. The syncopation that comes in with the high hats is good (though they are a tiny bit too quiet compared to the rest of the mix) but it's much after the drop.

I'm honestly sitting here listening to the drop over and over and I can't figure out what I find wrong with it. The basic feeling is this: the drop is fine, but then when the drop hits the big saw lead seems TOO fast. Like another part should have led into that, or the drop should have been longer to justify the saw lead jumping in like that. I THINK another part similar part should be there, and the saw lead shouldn't be introduced until a little after.

As far as the rest of the track goes, I think you may want to introduce different variations on that saw lead. There is 3:30 of it with only a little breather.

Besides that the production is great! A few elements I think are too quiet in the mix like the high hats I said earlier, but besides that it's just the saw lead that bothers me, and only from time to time.

Long Story Short: IF I listen to the section after the drop without having heard the lead in, it sounds just fine, but WITH the lead in something is off.

I hope I made sense, just tell me if you need clarification since I feel like this post was pretty scatterbrained.
