David Pajo's (The Room-esque) Suicide Note, Attempt

I was always a huge David Pajo fan...from Slint and Tortoise to all his other various contributions.

But this...I'm more embarrassed for him than anything else. Just from reading his suicide note, my sympathies lie more with his ex-wife than him. The only sense in which I feel bad for David Pajo is that he still--at the age of 46 or thereabouts--has the inner life of a bratty teenager.

It is literally (and I mean literally) the most teen-angst-y thing I've ever read in my life.

Ironically, I think Buddhism is the cure for what ails him.

Anyway...luckily he's okay.

I'm just reacting to the suicide note that he made very public in an attempt to gain sympathy and malign/guilt-trip his ex-wife.

Yeh, thats a crappy move, its sad that he felt like this but to put the blame so heavily on someone is cruel.

It does on the surface seem baffling and agitating to see someone with a wife and kids do this, but I can't and won't judge someone on that. Same with suicide in general. I skimmed the note and get the same impression as Limpyloo but I hesitate to really say anything about, hell I didn't even really want to read it.

I'm just glad to hear he's ok and recovering. Not a simple "happy ending" but a preferable outcome for sure. There's a much longer emotional recovery ahead.

Also, what a weird fucking thing to witness occurring online.

How the fuck do you try to commit suicide and then post a selfie giving a thumbs up the day after

Life's weird like that I guess

Everyone's been through breakheart sooner or later in their life and know how it is, so this isn't really that crazy that someone just can't handle it properly. It's bound to happen to someone, statistically. Too bad it happened to someone semi-famous. Oh well.

It's all well and good to judge these things when they hit the public eye but depression/trauma takes you to strange places, I hope you don't experience that for yourself some day. Surviving a suicide attempt is a major victory and I hope he gets the help he needs.

I'm glad you brought it up Limpy.

It's probably because I don't know the guy and hardly even the bands he was in but all I could think when I read that note was, geez, I've been in that place when I was 18 years old but I'm a lot more stable and less of a cunt now. And I always assumed that's how it goes for most people, but I guess I was wrong. Mental illness is a bitch but wow.

Not kidding, I just opened this thread right after putting up the second disc of DMX Krew - Wave:CD, on valentines day nonetheless. This starts playing first:

Anyway, I already responded on this in another thread, it was really horrible to read / see that stuff. Reminded me of a mate that did the same thing for a similar reason at age 18, he also survived but still has to deal with the consequences of the attempt everyday. I hope that all involved will be OK and that this publication will be removed quickly for his sake.

edit: irl lol at that first reply on that blog though. Fucking internet.
