RIP Tangerine Dream

Jerome Froese has stated on his FB that Tangerine Dream will cease to operate, after the death of his father, Edgar.

They're still going, they're finishing up the album that they started recording with Edgar before he died. Jerome left the band in 2006 so has no say in what happens. A really excellent EP came out last year and the final album will be coming out this year. Given that Edgar was planning retiring the band on its 50th anniversary in 2017, it kind of made sense to carry on - apparently he'd already laid out plans for Thorsten and Ulrich to follow if anything happened to him as he was getting pretty frail before he died.
