Question to SH101 owners

Recommended Posts

I bought an SH101 few weeks ago. Awesome synth, needless to say :)

I was wondering if it's possible to shorten the end of a step sequence?

As it happens, sometimes i put in too many rests or notes, so the sequence goes offbeat.

say i want to do a 16 step sequence, and i put in 17 steps for a mistake. is there a way to shorten it to 16 steps?

Put a 5v offset into the VCF cv and then resetting the clock to a bpm exactly 16/17 of the original tempo might work. You might also need to adjust the puslewidth of the clock signal, but don't go past about 60%. You could also try not listening to the 17th note. In fact not listening to any one of the 17 notes will give you a 16 step sequence, just choose the note you like the least. I'm not keen on G#, but obvs you may have your own preference and this wouldn't work if G# appeared more than once. If it did you'd just have to get rid of all of them and add in more notes to the end of the sequence. Just don't add in too many as it can be difficult to delete notes on the 101, although a 5v offset into the VCF cv usually does the trick.

No. You must remake the entire sequence.

I got a question too, are any of you SH101 breeders? Think you can send me a specimen of the next litter? Can be one of the uglier ones that don't sell well.

Sean Ae yeah so many of these analogue forums are people 90% bragging ang 10% uploading tracks that go fdghfgdhfddhgasfgdsfdsahfdfhdsgfgds

Meant to sound damn close. But thing is so fucking ugly.

I quite like the grey one when the plastic has degraded and looks almost cammo green. The SH101 does look almost army issue I reckon with it's boxyness, like a trusty jeep. Other than that the blue is the nicest.

that green colour that grey 101s have faded to over time is top lush. i wish roland would quit with their attempts at digitally recreating their old synths. doesn't work, man.

101 is such a pile of absolute shite inside. So cheap. So tacky. So nasty. Blergh.

I was saving up for a blue one

Then I realized

that I really liked the 'soviet austerity' look

of the gray one

So I bought a gray one

Now I think the red and blue ones look off
