I think someone spread that rumour on here a while back. It really doesn't work. If you're not feeling it then just don't play it. Guest MMBKG
drukqs took me a while to crack too. I suppose my answer would be to play songs you like out of context of the album. or songs in general. like try vordhosbn and mt saint michel Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/8705-how-to-access-drukqs/#findComment-177912 Share on other sites

YEK
try making a playlist of those mp3's and put the tracks in order as they appear in the liner: track 1,3,2,5,4,6,7,8,12,10,29 etc i did this before and it sounded a lot less random and more whole. try it out and see if you fancy listening to it this way Edited May 30, 2006 by yekker Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide YEK's signature Hide all signatures Reveal hidden contents !:/music Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/8705-how-to-access-drukqs/#findComment-182304 Share on other sites

Guest Quoth
I first started with the drill 'n bass tracks on Drukqs, like Vordhosbn, Mt. Sint Michel + St. Michaels Mount, 54 cymru beats, Meltphace 6 and Cock/Ver10. After that I tried to listen to it in one take, but I didn't get the 'feeling' at that time. So Drukqs disappeared for almost 2 year onto my shelves, before I re-discovered it and tried again. I must say I was a far more experienced Aphex listener than when I fist heard Drukqs (in fact, after Windowlicker it was my second RDJ release). Now I consider it as a real masterpiece, it reflects many of the things he's done on previous records. So my advice would be to dig his previous work first, and then take Drukqs, starting with the drum tracks, and slowly expanding to the piano pieces. I wouldn't recommend to change the order of the tracks, for me it feels just right the way it is now. Zephyr_Nova
Drukqs was the first Aphex album I really got into. I love the prepared piano pieces. It really shows his sensibility as a composer. Very emotional sound, unusual melodic progressions. And of course it shows off his drum programming at its best. If you're not into it yet, it's probably just not your thing. All I can suggest is listen to it on a very good soundsystem with the volume way up. Bubba69
Was my first album too. But it didn't make sense to me for a very long time until I listened to it lots. Then I got some other of his CDs and etc. Thats how my fascination with electronic music started.
