Hey, just got into no input mixing and was doing it with my 4 track cassette recorder. I'm achieving some great tones that i'll drop into Ableton's simpler. I'm a little afraid of breaking my recorder, the gain is pretty low and the signal isn't peaking so i guess I'm good.

Anyone have any experience? Tips/tricks? Your own recordings?

here's a vid for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about

ya mixer feedback can be really cool. Never heard it called no-input mixing.

I really want to someday build a 4x4 matrix mixer for this exact purpose. :)

the older yamaha mixers with the knobs and spring reverbs sound fucking *amazing* when doing this type of internal feedback stuff. A friend of mine who has been making drone music for the better part of 20 years used to use one all the time live

Awesome work man, really dig the drums and of course the sound card feedback sounded very digital

Guest chunky

EQ for tuning the feedback

bp filter and cassette tape delay in the feedback path (3 head cassette deck)

turn up the gain and volume on an empty channel for noise

spring reverb sounds good, shake the reverb for splashes

I've recorded the feedback before generated by my usb box I use to rip vinyl. Gonna have to have a go at processing it live now.

Thanks ! I'd love to be able to do something similar live with analog gear !

I kept it "analog" in the way the patch is built, ( no midi information have been exploited or harmed during this jam ! ) but I would have to sell the house just to get all the band pass filters used to get the drums sounds...

Ok, f### the house, let's do it ! :D
