Psyched. Always room on the shelf for O'Rourke.

Exciting! I love his songs, maybe more than his experimental stuff. I could listen to him play acoustic and sing all day long.

great news! haven't listened to Insignificance in a while, going to give it a spin now in anticipation.

yeah, i get a hearty chuckle from the repetition of it.. and the pronunciation

just on the 3rd song now, but it sounds great so far.

3rd track is really wonderful. definitely a big 70s vibe off this alright.

while the arrangements, mix, variety of timbres etc. are super impressive, there's not much in the way of affecting tunes, to the extent of his older albums. this album seems ultra-refined, labored-over to the max.. also, it's super quiet, kinda thin? sounding. on the plus side, you can turn it up really loud, and it sounds great. maybe i gotta keep spinning it

Havent heard this yet but .. This sounds like a good thing !! Things mixes/mastered super loud are the worst..

maybe he intended it to be this way, but the off-level sound mixing/mastering is very noticeable on this, which imo detracts from the listening experience. I actually thought something was wrong with my stereo when I played it for the 1st time. the low's are almost missing, high's are too loud, and his voice is sounds too low in the mix...agreed that you have to turn this up loud to get a better effect, but I don't always want to have to play something at blarring levels to appreciate it.

the songs are all excellent though

"All Your Love" is one hell of a closer.

See what you guys mean by the sound. Thought it had a lofi/filtered intro lol.

Had to have it at maximum volume on my phone.

yeah had a wee listen and definitely hear it too. i think the bass is mixed super low?

hopefully its something that can be worked around a wee bit with some excessive EQing on my end (sorry o'rourke!!) :)
