Hmm. I generally think his stuff is good, but this is kinda meh. Perhaps it should have been recorded straight up instead with a mic or phone or sommat.

How about writing a good riff?

Also, it's five years old.

I know not every one is a winner but with that gear you'd hope for something better.

To be fair he generally makes better stuff. This is kind of uncharacteristic.
