does this blue beast give what you expect...awsome bass

i was looking to buy an analouge sequencer bass

and i was going to save up and buy a tb-303, but i was mainly planning to use it as a bass, like not using the tweak and lazer acid trademark of the tb

but for $1500 Australian i don't think its worth it

so i was researching about that x0xbox and thought maybe i should get that, since it would be about $500 for me, and it seems like its good bass.

but then i found out that the tb-303 has more low frequnceies than that x0x0b0x.

then back to the tb-303, because of its lightness and mobility;battery powered, which truly turns me on.

but then i found out about the MC-202, the mother of bass, i like the look and everything but i have not heard what its bass actully sounds like, all i've heard was that its a poor mans tb-303 :unhappy:

so i was thinking of getting this thing, does anyone own one?

does anyone have some song that they can post which uses the mc-202, CLEARLY?

also theres a synth called the retro 777, is this worthy?

I recommend both the 202 and the 777, I prefer the 777 though!

the 202 is fookin great, really versitlie, from nice melodys, acid bass, weird fx. ive made mine sing like an opera singer and also drum sounds

the 1st 12 sec is all sounds made with the 202 and the last 5/6 sec is also 202 drummin

also if you wanna get other x0x's in the future the 202 is the sync master

well since you build the x0xb0x yourself, you can tweak it so it sounds just right.

first off it has several trimpotentiometers that you can use to make it's low-end more prominent

secondly you can substitute certain components with others, which can result in more low-end if you get the right components..

You could even buy three x0xb0x kits and fuse them into a hefty 3xOSC monosynth if you know a little electronics.

maybe even link the filters for a 54db/oct lowpass?! and maybe add modulation-routing options for the extra two stepsequencers.. so you could control the filters, pitches of the seperate oscs, etcetc all with the stepseqs.. and building it all into a ems synthi aks-style suitcase! most wickedest!

your eyes seem to be a bit loose in their sockets, you might want to.. ehm.. take a look at them...

i think the 202's got the best sub bass of any synth in existance

even moog modulars don't have quite that sub presense

it is NOTHING like a VST - the sub is the mercedes of sub's - it's not just deep and flabby, it's fine tuned - it sounds deep and powerful even on a pair of walkman headphones - but it's never overbaring, even on a 5k PA system

I was under the impression that it was just a 101 with a sequencer, but then I heard these demos and I was like :omg:

There is a LOT more going on down below with this thing than with a 101 OR a 303. I want one!

yep, mc202 is cool

if your gonna buy one youll probs need to pick up a din sync24 convertor if you wanna sync up to midi gear or you can use cv gate to play the internal synth....

the factory cv gate inputs go thru the cpu i think which adds too much latency....

its possible to mod extra cv gate ins which dont have this

mine came with these and extra cv inputs for filter and portamento....

I really love the 202 sound so ive been considering one for a looong time. but im not a hardware experienced guy, and I've heard they are a total bitch to learn how to use. Should i worry about this?

no they're pretty easy

the sequencer takes some getting used to but that would be no reason to not get one
