there was even a thing called groovesquid which allowed you to download everything from gs, I'm quite amazed it lasted as long as it did,

also, copyright is dumb.

Spent years on that website, making playlists with friends, discovering stuff...
I'm gutted but I guess they couldn't do anything else.

So now I'm gonna be listening to shitty adverts every 2 or 3 tracks on Deezer. I guess it'll get annoying very quickly !

These people can act all pouty lipped now but they clearly had no reservations about using unlicensed music. Their motto from the outset was " It's better to say sorry than ask permission" and, if I recall correctly, would only consider licensing songs above 100.000 views. I didn't suffer much from having my music put up there but it's not a smart way to run a relatively popular "business".

I'm more surprised to hear Deezer is still a thing! I remember using that shit in high school haha

welp. i was actually using that website for a long time (and up to a few days before shutdown), sad to see that it's gone.

Are we sure his label isn't ripping him off? These revenue numbers from Spotify seem pretty legit

I guess maybe if more people had paid subscriptions things would be better for the artists, they're not making much off those ads.

Plaid posted something in the same range metioning the salary is pretty much nonexistent and I don't think WARP rips them off
