i actually don't like the french caribbean carnival thing with the fast shuffle drums, monotonous call and response and the crappy synth horns, but it's something that's been on my radar ever since my sister brought some CD's back from martinique in the early 00's. i was more into the dancehall stuff that she had with her. nwae I probably didn't really go out of my way to provide some decent reference points to zouk or karnival or whatever, sorry, i was really hammered but that raram - no limit, with it's detuned home made horn sound kind of illustrates genre in a general sense, the other stuff seems to be degenerating into mainstream RnB aethetics with local accents.
