Polytrix
Hello! Hope all is well. So this is the H4N I'm using: As you can see, it has two 1/4''/xlr inputs on the bottom of it (1 and 2). It has a headphone output (3.5mm) on the right hand side. It's also got USB connection and can be used as an interface which I don't utilize as I have a Focusrite box. Am I right in thinking that other than recording to the memory card and then accessing that from my laptop for playback after recording, the only way to use the unit as a live effects box would be to send a 3.5mm output from the headphone/line jack back to my focusrite input and then hear that affecting whatever the source of the sound is going into it (guitar/drum machine - via input 1/2) ? It's got a whole load of virtual amplification and some cool effects on board and is in that sense silly not to use. Thanks for confirmation. I get confused with this stuff sometimes. Polytrix
Think I got it working. I had to use a different wire from the line out headphone jack to ?boost the signal? before sending it back into my interface via 1/4'' connection. I'm using one of these cables from the zoom: And then going back off the phono cable parts to one of these: And then simply inputting with only one of 1/4 inch ends back into the interface. Think this makes sense.
