Corporation won't allow me to listen to music/stuff while working, I will do it anyway. Pls help me do it

So I got this job at a gaming corporation that isn't allowing me to listen to music or anything not work-related while working, but I found a way to do it and I am going to do it, but alot of people are passing by my desk all day, so it should be left in a tab and let it roll all day, or at least between pauses, which allow us to do (almost) anything on the internet.

Sorry for the long intro, I just need some good lectures/debates/documentaries which don't require viewing them for you to understand them/etc.

I listened to the bill nye vs ken hamm debate today and it was pretty interesting. I would require your input.

The truth is I found the loophole some weeks ago, and I listened to pretty much all the 90s hip-hop golden era albums, and some Tool. But music distracts me, and I can't enjoy it too much either. Listening to electronic music is pretty much out of the question, since I have to listen to whatever on low volume, so people around me won't hear that I'm listening to anything in my headphones.

Want to keep your job? Don't do it.

Even if you can "get away with it" from people not seeing what you do, your company probably monitors internet traffic/bandwidth, and your increased bandwidth (if not the websites you are linking to) will give you up sooner than later. If your company has a policy against that, then I wouldn't risk it if you value your job.

Why not use earbuds + mp3s on your phone/portable player?

i would take the opposite approach, bring 20x bags of ice, cold beers some weed, etc get some friends round & friends of friends, hire a top pa system a stack of speakers which go through the ceiling so you may need to cut the floor out above during the night blast out some beats as soon as everything is connected, then when people start coming for work questioning 'wtf is happening & why is everything damp?!' then is the right time to ask

In school I used to always pull the headphone wire through my pullover up through my right sleeve and into my hand, then I'd make it look as if i was resting my head on my arm, but I assume you are allowed to wear headphones anyway. How are they gonna control it?

Totally. Any network admin worth half his paycheck can and does audit your traffic and browsing history on a regular basis, ESPECIALLY if they don't want you messing on the net and/or using their limited (EXPENSIVE AS FOCK) bandwidth in the first place.

That said, a flat out no-listening-to-iPod policy is bullshit unless they have very specific business-functionality reasons. I've done work for clients who let their employees do pretty much whatever they want on company time as long as the work gets done and the money keeps flowing. One place even had a porn server and dirty chatroom for vested employees, they consider "the new CoD just came out" just-cause for working from home for a week or two, and hot girls from HR wear "I Love Geeks" shirts while serving Thursday afternoon Coronas to the IT dept.

i would actually be able to concentrate more when i'm listening to music. when i'm listening to a familiar track, i 'know' how it goes. my brains don't have to prosess any unpleasanties. but without headphones, you'll have to listen all kind of backround noises, wich are random and out of phase.

Your workplace is trying to break you down little by little psychologically. This whole approach takes little things away from you to get you used to the idea of putting up with it. That way when they deny you a promotion, raise, or other opportunities, you'll be so used to it you'll be powerless. Because why would you deserve something so great when we don't even let you listen to music? Oh you worked hard? Lol!!!

The only solution is to tape an explosive to the inside of the microwave in the break room.
