poblequadrat
my punk band is dropping acoustic instruments and we'd like to know if there is any cheap way to introduce live electronic drumming. like, cheap pads and cheap drum software or a cheap drum machine which works well with this sort of thing. i lost my job and one of us is 16 so we don't really have a big budget at all. pluses would be sounding like early p-model, being able to use samples, and looking like flur & bartos in the 70's. individual outputs is a plus but not necessary after all, especially if samples are a possibility. oh, and the more user-friendly the better. we already have a d-50 and 3 fm synths so we're kind of running out on punk cred and patience. also, which is a good way to sequence drum loops from live playing, and to have a drummer switch between patterns and turn loops on and off? Guest kymppinetti
mpc 500 for 250-300e, but not very user friendly in my opinion. Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/87833-drums/#findComment-2333536 Share on other sites
BCM
so you're dropping acoustic instruments, have 3 FM synths, a D50, and thinking about adding in an electronic drum section. have you ever considered that maybe punk isn't the way to go? b born droid
We used some cheap as fuck pads we found on an old electronic drum kit in a charity shop and fed them all into the Alesis Trigger IO, which in turn triggered samples inside Ableton. Looping was a pain, but doable. modey
for real though, nice one on making synthpunk with digital synths.
