And he was a member of a Special Operations team during WW2. They were forbidden to ever discuss any information of their operations until every member of the team was dead. He was the last surviving member.

And he was the oldest metal performer ever.

Just read about his service in WWII and I'm sitting here in awe. I had no idea! All before his illustrious acting career. A full life indeed.

Peter Jackson said once on the set of the Lord of the Rings they were discussing how to film some of the battles in Helms Deep and Lee very casually and seriously explained to Jackson how a man sounds and acts (imitating body language) when someone slices his throat and bleeds out. True badass
