Racker&Orphan - Sounds of Insects 10"

David Orphan of Folklore Tapes collaborates on a new 10" vinyl release based on insect samples, similar to what Mira Calix did about a decade ago, but with more rhythm and melody here. Edition of 250 in plastic bag. Recommended.

yes, i got this last week direct from n.racker. there is also a cassette with some extra tracks from magphai and more doodlings from david orphan.

They did an album together for A Year in the Country but it honestly sounds like walking around with a mic hanging from your belt. This is much better.

i agree on the twalif x cassette being "i can hardly hear a thing but occasional field recording of some leaves crackling" but from what i understood, that was meant to as an experiment by 'a year in the country' in capturing moments "here and now" so it's also (technically) meant more for people who were there.

this record is a direct homage to this record
