I still haven't even fully listened to Morning Phase yet.

Definitely could see myself enjoying an album of this style of Beck songs though.

It's pretty catchy and summery. I don't understand the hate.

I love and support Beck whatever he does.. definitely agree that upbeat poppish beck it's a refreshing change from his recent Morning Phaze / mellow sound that I was getting a little tired of.. I really want to like this track, but im sorry.. i just cant. it sounds like it was straight up made for a Levi's 501 Jeans commercial, and Beck submitted it to the ad agency as a demo, but Levi's turned it down so he made it his new single. yikes, hate to rip on this :/

yeah, really sorry to bog this thread down with the negging out activity but it's so weird coming from beck who's normally coming across as doing his own thing and setting his own trends (reversing the hip hop image with the acoustic side. bringing a funk rnb record out, etc.).

this more sounds like a study of what's been popular and attempting to copy it to a t. beck flexing his newly-realised producer muscles and tackling modern pop music.

the "dr-dr-dr-dreams" vocal reminds me of south park's parody of jonas brothers with the "Baaaaaaaaabyeeeeee" line.

hmph. not for me at all. hope the new album attempting to be pop music is at the least popular with the people it's supposed to be popular with :S

it does sound like it would perfectly fit into a commercial for some trendy piece of tech or clothes or whatever, but its pretty catchy and i can't hate it. it has that super modern sound where it doesnt resemble his classic 90s stuff at all, and its mostly just OK but i think its still better than most of the fluff like it thats out there.

Too much wrong and not enough right, if you dug that. shame. He should get us to remix it from the masters, i'd drop the 'ohs for starters.

i do like the idea of beck being active and pumping out music though, so i don't feel like i can hate the song.

new beck with the promise of beck being active and pumping out more material is always better than beck-radio silence imo!
