cwmbrancity
To quote 10-CC's Dreadlock Holiday - i dont like cricket, I LOVE IT and they dont get bigger than the Ashes: Can Mitchell J take wickets in English conditions? Can S Smith hold an innings together if the openers get walloped? Can Jimmy Anderson & S Broad skittle through the top Ox order? Can Inglan build scores above 350? (this seems the most improbable) Whatever the bookies are saying, it seems pretty close to call, but can see the baggy green caps edging it 2-1 (with the inevitable rain-drawn test) Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/88086-the-ashes-2015-any-inglanoz-crew-following/ Share on other sites
Soloman Tump
Love cricket. Was going to start a thread myself but you beat me to it! Hoping for a close 3-2 England series win. Root and Wood to be our heroes! Hope Bell doesn't crumble like Trott did on the last tour, his recent form might haunt him. Otherwise if he comes good he could cause plenty of trouble. Hopefully Cook will bat well too, the 1st test really needs to go well to get the media on our side! Very excited about these tests. TMS all the way too, no way I'm forking out for Sky (but I guess there are other places online where it could be watched?) beerwolf
Not a massive cricket fan but I like watching The Ashes and take an interest in it (probably because I spent three years travelling and working in Australia, and went to a few matches out there). I sort of wished I had played it as a kid and got more involved in. I think I would of enjoyed it. Since it's gone to Sky I'm out the loop the last few times. I never or rarely watch tv screens, so I ain't gonna be subscribing to Sky anytime soon. So keep me updated lol Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/88086-the-ashes-2015-any-inglanoz-crew-following/#findComment-2343049 Share on other sites

Soloman Tump
I'll take that as a days play, sad to lose Butler right at the end, 6 down at the close would have been monumental given how our openers did a calypso collapso AGAIN. Bell needs to have a serious word with himself. (lol, or not, perhaps thats the problem) Hopefully we can add a minimum of 40 runs in the morning, would be nice to still be batting at lunch, don't think there will be any more rain so chances are the swinging might die down a bit. Love analysing test matches as they progress, its mad seeing a game unfold over 5 days. Little moments like Root getting dropped on 0 then he goes on to hit 130+ runs. Love it! Soloman Tump
Only tms. By the time I got back from work tonight there was only 30 minutes play left so I didn't bother. Nice to get back in time to hear Voges go through. cwmbrancity
Will have a proper rummage for streams tomorrow, any1 finds owt before lob it up, ta! Really liked Moeen's innings, took the game on & some sweet shots showed his timing is spot on. It would've been easy to block out everything after Root's wicket. The steady stream of pitch abuse from certain ex-players representing counties who were omitted from this year's itinerary is toe-curling & childish. Boycott the old wife beater was the worst. The 5 day test format pisses all over any 1 day competition. Soloman Tump
I'll just quietly bump this thread. What a glorious day to be an England cricket fan! Definitely making the most of it after the torrid 12 months we had previously. Broad 8-15 from 9 overs including 3 maidens. What a demolition . Root 124 not out and we already have a 200+ run lead in one day. Couldn't have predicted such a pasting. I feel sorry for those who bought tickets for day 4 (maybe also day 3!) and were looking forward to a day out on the beers. Also ever so slightly feel sorry for the Ozzy fans who would have spent a fortune to fly over here to watch it. But this is partially a good pay back for the 5-0 whitewash last time. A lead of 500 by end of play tomorrow would be nice. Soloman Tump
No thread this time round, so I necro'd this one. Ashes so far has been riveting. So many little sub plots going on. Smith vs. Archer (and Smith vs everyone else) Stokes at Headingley was phenomenal. What a hero. And Leech! Probably cemented his position in the squad now at the cost of Moeen Ali. Anderson out for the duration (and probably forever in test cricket) - such a shame. So... We either need Old Trafford to be washed out as a draw, then win at the Oval... or win both! Not easy with Smith back but he was out for 34 against Derbyshire over the weekend so anything is possible Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide Soloman Tump's signature Hide all signatures https://intrusivesignals.blogspot.com/ Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/88086-the-ashes-2015-any-inglanoz-crew-following/#findComment-2740175 Share on other sites
