una terrible noticia

trailere looks le catastrofica

early reviews have said its very very good, not that they really matter with him

Edited by pyramidpanes

its a fantastic film, did a review in the film thread a while back,,,,,,,,

Jodorowsky is giant among men

Its fuckin ace and a serious return to form. El Topo and The Holy Mountain are far more insane, but this was much more tightly edited and linear.

Jodorowsky's own father's story is genuinely heart-breaking & his mum's cleavage.....mein gott..... + her singing.....usual cast of disfigured humanity and squawking geese

Overall, a work of brilliance - all of human life (and more, check out the The Theosophist) is in it

Yeah this isn't new new right?

I dloaded this a month or two back, still not watched it.

it's 2 years news. i loved it

Well shit, it's new to me! Huge fan of his past work. The music at the start of the trailer is weirdly similar to a track I did last year (never got the production quite right).

oooh, yeah i loved holy mountain. never seen el topo.

To play a wrong note is insignificant. To play without passion is inexcusable

On July 1st, after two intense months of preproduction in Chile, 86-year-old cult filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky has finally begun shooting his most recent feature-film ENDLESS POETRY (Poesía Sin Fin). We've been right on track with the most creative and supportive team one could ever dream of, giving this amazing Film our all. We are so proud of the magic the whole crew is making... but the money is running out fast and we need your help to make it to the finish line.

ENDLESS POETRY portrays Alejandro Jodorowsky’s young adulthood, set in the 1940s and 50s, in the electric capital city of Santiago. There, he decides to become a poet and is introduced, by destiny, into the foremost bohemian and artistic circle of the time. He meets Enrique Lihn, Stella Diaz Varín, Nicanor Parra and many others of the country’s young, promising and unknown artists who would later become the titans of Latin America's literature.

ENDLESS POETRY is a tale of poetic experimentation; the story of a unique youth that lived as not many before them had dared: sensually, authentically, freely, madly.

Its on general release in cinemas, in the uk anyhow, takes a while even a couple of years for films to get into cinemas from their initial release which can happen with more independent films, puts tie on & strokes official bureaucratic beard

great monologue! jeez 20k from germany for the film sums up the state of independent cinema & why its so slow for some films to get general release, if even they can get one, & sounds like endless poetry is a continuation from dance of reality

El Topo is great. If you like that, Santa Sangre is awesome as well. Fando y Lis was too much for me though. Especially that egg scene... *shudders*

you HAVE to watch El Topo....The Holy Mountain's psychological & alchemical preparations have already seeped into the deeper recesses of your psyche

you're ready, go forth n dig like a mole

Finally got around to watching this and wow was it great, it's early but it may be my favorite of his yet. Gonna check out Endless Poetry later this week, considering it's a continuation of this story to say that I'm hyped would be a major understatement.

I watched Poesia Sin Fin. Jodorowsky is a bit old and doesn't punch in the gut like he used to. But even though he's basically made a film about himself, you can admire the sincerity. And having your sons play your father and yourself is quite an information to have inside your head while watching it. Jesus what did he put his family through :D But yeah, 7/10

Yeah, filming these movies has to be pretty fucking heavy, especially with Alejandro having to be pretty close to the end.

"alright guys, for the next shot...

yes i did, tbqh i didn't feel it that much, i dunno, very poetic and dramatic, a bit too heavy, it's called endless poetry for a reason... hehe

i think i remember the dance of reality being more light-hearted, maybe because it depicted his childhood and this one is more centered in his adolescent and adult life...

it's visually stunning though!

also, maybe i wasn't in the right mood, that might have influenced my impression...
